I will be going and working with Mission to the World this summer in Bulgaria. The organization’s ministry includes several components that reach a wide variety of people in Bulgaria. The team reaches out to the community by teaching English, offering vocational training and computer literacy classes, medical care to the needy, caring for special needs children, family development counseling, a university ministry, and mercy ministries.
I am blessed with the opportunity to go to Sofia, Bulgaria to show the love of Christ to the people there, serving as a representative of Christ Community Church. I will be leaving July 7, 2012 and returning on July 22, 2012. I have two main purposes for this trip. First, I will be working with The Well Sofia internship program. This program includes learning what it means to live out the Gospel in another cultural setting by engaging in outreach ministries through teaching English and mercy ministries. The second reason I am going on this trip is because I am heavily praying about moving to Bulgaria long term to partner with the MTW team working in their Daughters of Bulgaria program. Bulgaria is one of the primary “feeder countries” for both Europe and America for human trafficking and sex slavery. This programs helps prevent and raise awareness of prostitution/human trafficking and rescue of those involved by demonstrating the love of Christ to those being lured into and caught within the sex industry. I am asking that you join me in praising the Lord for the opportunity which He has given me to go and serve Him in Bulgaria. Also, pray that my focus will remain on my reasons for being in Bulgaria and that many lives would be saved for eternity with Christ.
